Introducing the DASH Knowledge Database (DKB)
With the wrap-up of the Data Across Sectors for Health (DASH) initiative, the program office has developed a publicly accessible, searchable online database with hundreds of entries related to the field of multisector data sharing for health.
From its inception in 2016 to its sunset in October 2025, Data Across Sectors for Health, or DASH, served as a connector and convener for multi-sector data collaborations working toward health equity. Now, after almost a decade of providing funding, technical assistance, learning resources, communications support, and information dissemination for hundreds of projects, the former program office is sharing collected learnings and related resources in the DASH Knowledge Base.
The DASH Knowledge Base, or DKB, is a publicly accessible online database of frameworks, guides, reports, webinars, and podcasts related to health equity, data sharing, community empowerment, and more. It also contains profiles of scores of organizations and projects that were connected to the DASH initiative.
The DKB is unique among public health and healthcare repositories for its focus on building and maintaining equitable data ecosystems. And it's a one-stop shop, offering organized, searchable links to resources scattered across the Internet. No more hunting through your bookmarks or trying to recall where you found that interesting report or helpful talk.
To learn more about the DKB, register for "Introducing the DKB," a one-hour webinar on April 22, 2026, at 11:00-12:00 AM ET.
Curious how you might use the DKB? Maybe you head an agency serving people experiencing homelessness and are looking for new ideas to improve the quantity and quality of engagement with the community you serve. You might search Resources for a framework or toolkit or browse an Organization that has engaged in similar work. You can also message the DKB librarian by clicking on the green speech bubble icon on the bottom right of each page. The librarian (a real person, not a bot!) will work with you to locate what you need.
Maybe your collaboration is thinking about integrating community-services data with clinical data. What kinds of legal challenges and opportunities are there? Who has done this before and what has worked for them? You could go to the legal library collection and use the search and filter functions to locate a sample data service agreement or a toolkit for data integration. Or, again, you could use the speech bubble icon to reach out to the DKB librarian.
Maybe you direct a community-based organization, and some of your board members need more information about the concept of shifting practices to share power with your community. You could use the interactive DASH Framework in the DKB to find exemplary projects and resources on shared power. Or, you could—you got it!—message the librarian for help.
