As public health agencies and their partners plunge headlong into data modernization, key questions become increasingly urgent: how can modernization efforts move from data extraction to shared stewardship, from metrics that center money and efficiency to those that describe people and whole communities thriving? This webinar will invite participants to consider what changes when data modernization efforts begin by asking: Who should shape this system, who benefits from it, and who holds it accountable?

Drawing on lessons from Data Across Sectors for Health (DASH), participants will explore how the DASH Framework can help modernization teams move beyond a technology-first approach. We will explore the DASH Knowledgebase (DKB) as a practical resource for organizations working to connect data modernization efforts with community-centered governance, shared stewardship, and cross-sector action. The session will highlight ways to use the DKB to identify practical tools, examples, legal and governance resources, and field-tested strategies for strengthening community data ecosystems.
